Carol S. Maskin, MD — Clinical/Regulatory Advisor. Carol is an independent medical and regulatory consultant who works with PharmApprove providing strategic advice and guidance regarding new drug development and high stakes regulatory meetings, including FDA Advisory Committee meetings, in a broad range of therapeutic areas. Carol is a Board-certified cardiologist with 20+ years’ of senior executive pharmaceutical experience. She has led strategy and implementation of global development projects, Phase 2b through registration and throughout product lifecycle, in all therapeutic categories, including Cardiovascular Diseases, Thrombosis, Diabetes, Osteoporosis, Pulmonary, Immunology, Neuroscience, and Oncology. Her positions have included leadership of the global Cardiovascular Development group at BMS, head of R&D at BMS Worldwide Consumer Medicines, and head of all late-phase Global Development Projects (Rx) at Aventis (now Sanofi-Aventis), resulting in approval of several first in class drugs and novel indications. Prior to entering Industry, Carol was a member of the full time academic medical faculty (Division of Cardiology) at the University of Chicago, and before that, at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where her research focused on heart failure and hypertension, and she served as a senior consultant to Industry on several cardiovascular development projects. Results of Carol’s independent research are extensively published in the literature.
